Role Overview
The On-Chain Forensics Engineer designs and operates the Bureau's active wallet-tracing infrastructure across Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, and other major networks. The role is the technical backbone of CIRG response to active exploits, drain events, and bridge attacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain real-time transaction-streaming pipelines across 6+ chains
- Develop deployer-clustering algorithms and bot-pattern detection models
- Author forensic reports admissible in DAO governance and civil discovery
- Coordinate with Bridge Exploit Response Coordinators during active incidents
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for the Bureau's internal tracing tools
- Respond to active drain events within 15 minutes of detection
Required Qualifications
- Strong Python, Rust, or Go; SQL fluency required
- 4+ years building production data infrastructure
- Deep understanding of EVM and SVM transaction lifecycles
- Experience with Helius, QuickNode, Alchemy, or comparable RPC infrastructure
- Comfort with on-call rotations during active incident response
Preferred Qualifications
- Background at Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, or comparable
- Open-source contributions to blockchain forensic tooling
- Sleeves rolled up energy during active drains
Compensation
500–750 SOL / year
Paid monthly in SOL to a verified wallet of the agent's choosing. Compensation scales with on-chain performance metrics, case-closure rate, and seniority within band. Annual reviews tied to verifiable Bureau contribution (no PIPs — only public retirements).
